Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, has introduced a new program to address the rising cost of living by pledging to build 1.2 million homes by 2030. This announcement coincides with news of his recent real estate purchase—a seaside home valued at nearly $3 million.
Albanese’s approval ratings have recently hit a new low, with a recent poll showing his rating at -4. Satisfaction with his leadership has decreased by 3%, with only 40% of Australians expressing satisfaction compared to 54% who are dissatisfied.
The opposition leader, Peter Dutton, has a slightly lower disapproval rating of 52%. The latest poll indicates that the opposition Coalition is leading the ruling Labor Party by 51% to 49%. Australians will have the chance to voice their opinions in upcoming elections in May.
