Tel Aviv, Israel — Hezbollah has announced it recently targeted two sites in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, including an Israeli intelligence base. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that they intercepted some rockets aimed at central and northern Israel, while others landed in open areas, with no reported injuries.
In another development, the IDF stated that a Hezbollah commander, who managed the group’s finances, was killed in Syria. This commander was in charge of a unit that handled money from oil sales for Hezbollah. His predecessor was also killed in an earlier attack in Beirut.
Over the weekend, Israeli forces struck about 30 locations linked to Hezbollah’s financial operations, including a bunker in southern Beirut. The IDF claims this bunker held large amounts of cash and gold and was located beneath a hospital. The Lebanese Health Ministry denied these claims, stating that Israeli strikes hit a hospital entrance, resulting in four deaths, including a child.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Israel to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza. He will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to talk about freeing hostages and reducing suffering among Palestinians.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah is escalating, with both sides preparing for more military action. The IDF says Hezbollah has only about 30% of its rockets left, which still amounts to thousands.
As the situation unfolds, efforts to ease tensions continue to be a priority for the U.S. and regional leaders.
