Bollywood actor Salman Khan is under serious threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has demanded ₹5 crore (about $600,000) to end their feud. The gang allegedly warned that if Khan doesn’t pay, he will face dire consequences, worse than those experienced by recently murdered politician Baba Siddiqui. An alleged member of the Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for Siddiqui’s murder and stated that anyone who helps Khan will also be targeted.
In response to these threats, Mumbai police have increased security around Khan’s residence in Bandra. Recently, Navi Mumbai police arrested a gang member linked to an alleged plot to kill Khan. This man, known as Sukir Balir Singh, was apprehended in Panipat, Haryana. He reportedly contracted Bishnoi gang members to carry out the attack.
Khan’s troubles with the Bishnoi gang date back to 1998, when he was accused of hunting and killing two black bucks, an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. This incident is believed to be the reason for Bishnoi’s ongoing vendetta against the actor.
The Mumbai police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unknown individuals related to these threats. This is not the first time Khan has received such threats; he has faced several in the past few years. Given the seriousness of the situation, authorities are taking every precaution to ensure his safety and are investigating the origins of the recent threat.
